Tikkurila Tunnel to be Officially Opened
Tomorrow will be the official opening ceremony for the new Tikkurila Tunnel, recently completed by Lahdelma & Mahlamäki Architects and artists Helena Hietanen and Jaakko Niemelä. The Tikkurila railway station underpass is the latest completed component of a massive development of the city centre. The Tunnel combines public accessibility with art; transforming an otherwise purely functional space into a cultural and historical experience.
